An endeavour to promote apprenticeship in India, a new scheme, National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme(NAPS)has been launched by the Government in August 2016 The scheme entails financial support to establishments undertaking apprenticeship programs.

Apprenticeship training is the most efficient way to develop a skilled workforce for the industry by using training facilities available in the establishments without putting any extra burden on the exchequer to set up training infrastructure.
